Recognized as one of the hottest young professional poker players – and not only due to his skills in poker – Antonius set records wherever he went. His undoubted talent in green color and a sense of union with a huge amount of money and millions in poker winnings would have been enough to make crying any adult.
Patrick Antonius was born in December 13, 1980 in Helsinki, Finland. Patrick's parents were ordinary workers, and lived in one of the poorest areas, so Patrik Antonius was accustomed to hardship and was always ready to overcome it. Since his childhood, he was fond of sports, football and tennis. When he was 13 years old, the professional coaches considered him as the most promising player in the city. But due to the severe injury he couldn't continue playing tennis. During his rehabilitation, Patrick became interested in playing poker and start playing it with his friends. And soon all the desire he had given to tennis, switched to poker.
Patrick always begins participating in various tournaments of poker. Recently, Patrick Antonius increasingly prefer to play online poker, and by the year 2002, his bankroll had been about $ 80,000. Soon after Patrick moved to the USA, where takes the lessons of teh game by such professional poker players as Marcel Lusk and Jennifer Harman. Having such teachers, Antonius progresses rapidly, and begins participating in poker tournaments. In 2003, Patrick won his first money in the tournament. November 17, 2003 was the date when he took the 4th place in the tournament of pot-limit Omaha with the buy-in of $200 and earned $3,480. Patrick continues devoting all his time to poker, and dividends are not forced to wait long - the amount of prize money for 2005 exceeds $ 1,5 million.
Playing poker all the day long Patrick managed a few months to increase the bankroll to $80,000. Since then poker player got carried away with offline competitions, where he also achieved considerable success. Antonius became the winner of the most major world competitions. During his career in online gaming and live events he cumulatively earned $14,5 million.
He also twice reached the finals at the WPT. He took the 12th place at the tournament of WPT Pokerstars Carribean 2004. In September 2005 he was a finalist WPT in Barcelona, he got the third place. In October, 2005 in EPT in Baden bei Wien he won 288,180. In July 2006, he took part in the WSOP at 50,000 HORSE and got the 9th place where he won $205,920.
